Hanging Artwork Horizontally
Learn the basics here
Hanging 2 or 3 pieces side by side, perfectly level, used to be a tour de force. That’s why step art was so in vogue years ago.  But now, hanging artwork horizontally with Hang & Level is a cinch, and this is how you do it.
Step 1 Step 1
Before you start, arrange your items. Arrange your items in the order that you want them to hang on the wall. By placing the items against the wall you will get a good idea of what they will look like when hung.
Step 2 Step 2
Hang the middle item first. Make sure that the item is positioned in the center of the space. Hang the first item using one or two nails or hooks.
Step 3 Step 3
Mark the distance between items. Use the marks on the side of the tool to make sure that the items are an equal distance apart. You can place a small mark on the wall and use it as a guide to position the next items.
Step 4 Step 4
Hang the items from the center outwards. When you align the items using the tool, you can align the top of the frames, or align the center of the items.
Step 5 Step 5
Level the items. Use the level on the side of the tool to make sure that the frames are hanging level, and use the marks on the sides of the tool to make sure that the frames are equally spaced.

HI Nicole, that\'s a great question! When you have such a large number of pieces to hang, my advice is to start from the middle of the bottom row and work horizontally, and then vertically. Once you have your first row of items hung, you can start to build up your display by hanging your second row of items above the first and so on. Good luck with your project and let us know how it went!

Hi... quick one... doing a collage of pictures around 40 over a large span of a wall... where would you suggest my starting point to be? Just bought your tool and I cannot wait! The pictures have waited for this tool for almost 2 years! thanks!
